Ashby Shoal Breakfast
Next Event: Saturday, June 13, 1998
The above photo was taken at one of the annual Ashby Shoal Breakfasts, with one of CSC's 26-foot Pearson Commanders in the background high and dry on Ashby Shoal, about a mile west of the end of Ashby Avenue.
At extreme low tides, the shoal is exposed, forming an island in San Francisco Bay. Dozens of CSC members sail out to the island on the ebb tide, where a picnic breakfast including a wide variety of food and drink is consumed. It is truly a unique experience.
It has even been the site of a wedding of a couple who met at CSC.
