Junior Skipper Fast Tracks

From May to September, when there's a late enough sunset to allow a couple hours sailing after work, CSC provides Junior Skipper Fast Tracks.

These are (usually) week-long intensive sailing courses to help you get your Jr Skipper rating. You have to first pass your written and rigging test and do your work requirement for the Jr rating.

Following are the dates tentatively chosen. Volunteers are lining up to lead the courses, and teachers and students will sign up about a month before the courses.

  1. Dates and times TBD

This is assuming the classes run in the evenings Monday through Friday. The classes should start at 5pm and go until dock time, which is usually sunset (Docktime is actually set by the dayleader)

These dates were chosen based on a few factors, first of all sunlight-sunset at 8pm or later. Second is tide- water at the dock. Third, they are four weeks apart.

Other dates are possible, doing a fast track on weekend afternoons has been done before and is a nice options for people who can't make weekday evenings due to scheduling conflicts. Weekends are harder to schedule because of Open House dates and Low tides plus those are the days people want to daysail the dinghies and a Fast track will tie them up for three hours.
