Executive Committee Meetings
The Executive Committee meets to present officer reports and to vote on issues that require Executive Committee action, especially spending money (more than $250), approving Senior projects, or changes to rules and operating procedures.
Matters that don't require a vote are handled by the individual officers. If there's an issue you think the Executive Committee needs to address, you should first talk to or email the officer who's responsible for that area of the club. Then if you would like to have it brought up at a meeting, send an email to excom@cal-sailing.org, and all the officers will see it.
Meetings start at 5:30 pm in winter, 6:30 pm in summer (daylight savings time) and generally last a half-hour or less. Discussion of issues at meetings rather than by email is discouraged, since most officers have responsibilities at the club, at work, and at home. Meetings are held at the clubhouse, and members are welcome to observe, although disciplinary hearings will require that everyone except officers leave.
Following is the schedule for 2008. Check the schedule before going, in case there's been a change. Meetings may be cancelled if there are no reports or items requiring a vote, or if there are not enough officers available to provide the quorum (5 officers) needed for a vote.Excom meeting dates
